Supporting Providers of Home Medical Equipment and Services
in the Home with Leadership, Knowledge, and Advocacy
History of HOMESThe Home Medical Equipment and Services Association of New England (HOMES) is the regional trade association for providers of home medical equipment (HME) and supplies in the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. HOMES provides an opportunity for home medical equipment companies across the nation to network, collaborate and revolutionize the manner in which HME is provided in New England. |
The HOMES Association was originally founded in 1976 as the Massachusetts Association of Durable Medical Equipment Companies (MADMEC) |
In 1988 MADMEC and the Connecticut Association of Medical Equipment Dealers (CAMED) joined together to form the first region wide association known as the New England Medical Equipment Dealers Association (NEMED). |
In 2013 under the leadership of the Executive Director Karyn Estrella NEMED re-branded and began operating under the "Doing Business as" (DBA) Home Medical Equipment and Services (HOMES) Association of New England. |
