Healthcare is Marathon

Keynote: Matt Jones

Healthcare is a Marathon, is an inspirational/motivational leadership talk designed to motivate, encourage, and inspire home health, home care, and durable medical equipment providers professionals in the changing climate in healthcare.

The talk is upbeat, energetic, full of humor, and tangible action strategies throughout. It is also tailored to fit the specific needs, challenges, and goals of your association.

It is based on my experiences conquering cancer three times (doctors did not think he would live), going through a bone marrow transplant, relearning how to walk, running marathons around the world, and my studies as a Ph.D. Candidate in Organizational Leadership along with Positive Psychology, and my book Life's a Marathon.

A Culture of Accountability Drives Employee Engagement and Success

Miriam Lieber, Lieber Consulting

SPONSORED BY:

Businesses succeed at a higher level and staff members perform better when everyone takes ownership of their work. A common leadership weakness is not holding people accountable until things go wrong. This laissez faire attitude creates negative morale and unengaged staff. According to Gallup, only two in ten employees believe that their performance is managed in a way that motivates them to do outstanding work. In this session, Miriam will discuss accountability measures that breed success and employee engagement. You won’t want to miss this interactive and timely session.

3:30 - 4:30p

Behind the Curtain: The Mechanics of Purchasing a DME Company

Audit Climate: What You Need to Know

Wayne van Halem, President; The van Halem Group

Things are heating up when it comes to audits, including in Managed Care. This presentation will provide a solid foundation of what you need to know as far as audits are concerned. We will provide an overview of what oversight entities and payers are currently focused on as well as a look into what we might expect in the second half of the year. Knowledge is power when it comes to protecting your business from audit recoupments and denials.

  • Identify issues or products that auditors from various payers are focusing their oversight efforts.
  • Learn what issues or products may be the subject of future oversight efforts
  • Identify which audit entities are most active.
  • Identify steps a supplier can take to mitigate the impact of an audit and reduce denials or overpayments.

All attendees and exhibitors are invited to join any and all meeting sessions, breaks, meals, and networking opportunities.
